«There is a warrant for your arrest»
How it sounds
«This is the sheriff’s office. You missed jury duty. Pay the fine now and tell no one.»
The trick
Police and courts don’t call to collect fines, and never ask you to keep it secret.
What to do
- Hang up.
- Call your local court yourself if you are worried.
