Scam guide

Your bank’s «fraud department»

How it sounds

«We see a suspicious charge. To stop it, read me the code we just texted you.»

The trick

The caller ID can show your bank’s name. The code they ask for lets them into your account.

What to do

  • Never read out a code from a text message.
  • Hang up and call the number on the back of your card.
